1. Purpose and Scope

This Cookie Policy explains the types of cookies that are placed on the browsers of edverd.com (“Site”) users while visiting the Site, their purposes, the providers they are sent from, and their retention periods. The Site includes many different integrations such as HTML-coded calculation tools, live chat widget, PayTR payment infrastructure, Wix infrastructure (Velo by Wix) and digital subscription service.

This policy covers cookies collected under four categories covered by the “Wix Cookie Consent Banner”:

  1. Essential Cookies

  2. Marketing Cookies

  3. Functional Cookies

  4. Analytics Cookies

Cookies are used in accordance with the provisions of the KVKK (Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data), the Electronic Commerce Law No. 6563, the Internet Law No. 5651, the European Union e-Privacy Directive (2009/136/EC) and the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

2. Definitions

  • Cookies: These are small text files that are left on the user's browser by websites. They are used to manage the user's session on the Site, remember their preferences, analyze Site performance or target advertising.

  • First-Party Cookie: Cookies sent via the edverd.com domain name and can only be read by edverd.com. Example:

    • _session_id (session management),

    • csrftoken (form security/CSRF protection),

    • lang_pref (remembering the user's Site language preference),

    • cookieConsent (storing user's cookie preferences per category).

  • Third-Party Cookie: These are cookies sent by third-party service providers integrated into the Site, such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, PayTR, etc., from their own domains. These cookies can also be read by relevant third-party companies outside of edverd.com. Example:

    • Google Analytics' _ga, _gid cookies,

    • Facebook Pixel's _fbp cookie,

    • PayTR's _paytr_session cookie.

  • Session Cookie: Temporary cookies that are deleted when the browser is closed. They ensure that the user's session (login information) within the Site remains valid. Example:

    • csrftoken (between forms for security purposes),

    • veloSession (session management in Velo by Wix infrastructure).

  • Persistent Cookie: These are cookies that are stored in the browser for a certain period of time and are automatically deleted at the end of this period. They are used to remember site preferences (language, theme, cookie consent, etc.). Example:

    • lang_pref (remembers language preference for 1 year),

    • theme_pref (remembers dark/light theme preference for 1 year),

    • cookieConsent (stores cookie preferences for 1 year).

3. Cookie Categories and Details

3.1. 1- Essential Cookies

“Essential Cookies” include cookies that are essential for the operation of the Site. Without these cookies, the main functions of the Site (session management, security, form validation) cannot function. No user consent is required; they are activated automatically.

3.2. 2- Marketing Cookies

“Marketing Cookies” are third-party cookies used to provide advertising targeted to the user’s interests, track advertising effectiveness and perform retargeting. These cookies are only activated when the user approves (opts-in) the “Marketing Cookies” category.

3.3. 3- Functional Cookies

“Functional Cookies” include cookies that enhance the user experience of the Site and ensure the uninterrupted operation of additional functions within the Site. Features such as the live chat widget, Velo by Wix back-end session, user preferences (theme, language, calculation tools settings) are included in this category. These cookies can be processed without user consent within the scope of Article 5/1-b of the KVKK (“Data processing is necessary for the establishment or performance of a contract”).

3.4. 4- Analysis Cookies

“Analysis Cookies” include anonymous or semi-anonymous cookies used to measure Site performance, analyze user behavior and improve the Site. These cookies are only activated when the user approves (opt-in) the “Analysis Cookies” category.

4. Cookie Consent and Management

4.1. Wix Cookie Consent Banner

Each time you visit the Site, the “Wix Cookie Consent Banner” will appear at the bottom (or top) of the screen. The banner has four category headings:

  1. Essential Cookies (Cannot be Disabled / Automatically Active)

  2. Marketing Cookies (Activated with User's consent)

  3. Functional Cookies (activated with User consent)

  4. Analysis Cookies (Activated with User's consent)

  • The Essential Cookies category is essential for the basic functions of the Site and cannot be turned off in any way.

  • For the other three categories, the options “Accept” or “Reject” are provided. In addition, the “Accept All” and “Reject All” buttons provide convenience to the user.

4.2. Updating Cookie Preferences

To change your cookie preferences at any time:

  1. Click on the “Cookie Preferences” link at the bottom of the Site.

  2. In the window that opens, select “Accept” or “Decline” for the categories “Marketing Cookies”, “Functional Cookies” and “Analysis Cookies”.

  3. Click on the "Save Preferences" button. The new preferences are saved in the browser via the cookieConsent cookie or local storage (localStorage); the relevant cookies are enabled or disabled according to your preferences.

4.3. Cookie Management via Browser

You can always delete cookies from edverd.com, block a specific cookie, or disable all cookies by accessing your browser settings. These processes vary by browser; here are some examples:

Google Chrome (Desktop):
  1. “⋮” in the upper right → “Settings” → “Privacy and Security” → “Cookies and Other Site Data” → “See All Cookies and Site Data” → find edverd.com → “Remove”.

  2. Under “Block Cookies,” enable the “Block third-party cookies” or “Block all cookies” options.

Mozilla Firefox (Desktop):
  1. “≡” in the upper right → “Options” → “Privacy and Security” → “Cookies and Site Data” → “Manage Data…” → select edverd.com → “Remove”.

  2. Check the “Block third-party cookies” or “Block all cookies” options.

Microsoft Edge (Desktop):
  1. “⋯” at the top right → “Settings” → “Cookies and Site Permissions” → “Manage Cookies and Site Data” → “Show All Cookies and Site Data” → select edverd.com → “Delete”.

  2. Under “Block Cookies,” enable the “Block third-party cookies” or “Block all cookies” options.

iOS Safari (Mobile):
  1. Open “Settings” → “Safari” → “Prevent Tracking” and “Block All Cookies”.

Android Chrome (Mobile):
  1. Use “Settings” → “Privacy and Security” → “Cookies” → “Block All Cookies” or “Block third-party cookies”.

WARNING: Disabling or deleting all cookies via the browser will prevent the Site’s functional features such as “Live Chat”, “HTML Coded Calculation Tools”, “Velo by Wix API Calls” and “Theme/Language Preferences” as well as all integrations related to “Marketing and Analytics” cookies from working.

5. Third Party Service Providers and Cookie Policies

Notes:

  • “Estimated” times are determined based on the most current information published by third-party service providers and may be updated based on changes in provider policies.

  • The table clearly shows which category each cookie belongs to and how long it is stored for.

7. Regular Control and Update of Cookies

1. Aylık Otomatik Tarama:

  • Which cookies are running on the Site is regularly monitored thanks to automatic reports from Wix or the additionally used “Cookie Consent” applications.

2. Semester Human Audit:

  • Veri koruma ve IT ekipleri, her altı ayda bir çerez envanterini manuel olarak gözden geçirir. Yeni eklenen çerezler veya artık kullanılmayan çerezler belirlenerek politika güncellenir.

3. Politika Revizyonu:

  • If the cookie list, storage periods or cookie descriptions require updates, the Cookie Policy will be revised within six months.

  • The “Last Updated” date of the text is updated; users can follow this information in the “Update Date” section under the Banner or Site.

8. Kullanıcı Hakları (KVKK Kapsamında)

According to Articles 11 and 13 of the KVKK No. 6698, Site users (data owners) have the following rights:

1. Learning Whether Data Is Processed:

You have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed through cookies and which data is collected with which cookies.

2. Learning the Purpose and Legal Basis of Processing:

You have the right to learn for what purpose and under which KVKK provision (article 5/1-a, 5/1-b or 5/1-c) the cookies used are used.

3. Learning Data Categories and Third Parties:

You have the right to learn which category the collected cookie data belongs to (Essential, Marketing, Functional, Analytics) and with which third-party service providers it is shared.

4. Requesting Correction of Incomplete/Faulty Data:

If cookie-based data is processed incorrectly or incompletely, you may request correction of this data.

5. Requesting Data Deletion or Destruction:

In accordance with Article 11/ç of the KVKK, you may request the deletion of data regarding Marketing, Functional and Analysis cookies, excluding Essential Cookies and mandatory cookies (session, security).

  • Essential Cookies cannot be deleted as they are essential for the operation of the Site; when Analysis and Marketing cookies are deleted, the relevant cookies are not re-installed.

6. Data Transfer Request:

Based on Article 11/ç of the KVKK; you can request cookie-based anonymized or pseudonymized analysis data in a reasonable format (e.g. CSV/JSON).

7. Objection to Processing:

According to Article 11/d of the KVKK, you have the right to object to cookie processing for marketing or analysis purposes. Upon your objection, all cookies in the relevant category will be disabled.

8. Otomatik Karar Verme ve Profil Oluşturma Süreçlerine İtiraz Etme:

If automatic profiling or decision-making processes are carried out using cookie data, you have the right to object to these decisions.

10. Application Method and Time:

  • You can forward your rights requests within the scope of KVKK to info@edverd.com with the title “KVKK Cookie Request”.

  • Additional information such as your Turkish ID number and date of birth may be requested to verify your identity.

  • Your application will be finalized free of charge within 30 days at the latest in accordance with Article 13 of the KVKK and will be notified to you in writing. In case of rejection, the reasons will be clearly explained.

9. Policy Updates

  • This Cookie Policy is reviewed and renewed at least every six months in line with changes in legal regulations (KVKK, e-Privacy, GDPR, Electronic Commerce Law, 5651), payment provider PayTR, the Site's technical infrastructure (Velo by Wix) or updates regarding third-party service providers (Google Analytics, Hotjar, Mapbox, etc.).

  • The “Last Updated” date is updated on the date specified at the top of the page; users can access this information in the “Update Date” section under the Banner or Site.
